The Casalfarneto wine estate is set in gentle hills among characteristic italian villages in the heart of the Marche region. Casalfarneto bases its work and products on passion for the territory and respect for the environment. Traditional methods and the latest technology are used together to produce high- quality wines. This is how Casalfarneto reaffirms its history, continually investing in quality and aiming for excellence.
CasalFarneto constantly strives for quality, and its technologically advanced winery is tangible proof. The ultra-modern facility, outfitted with the most up-to-date production equipment, fully satisfies the demands of eco-compatible architecture. Essential and linear, it is almost invisible on the outside, melding in with its surroundings through an architectural language of absolute respect.
Completely sunk into the hillside behind the vineyard, it blends in with the surrounding environment, without being imposing or invasive. The methods utilised are meant to optimise the specific virtues of each grape variety, and for this reason small-size tanks are employed, so as to respect the characteristics of each individual vine (exposition, nature of the soil, clones and fruit load), as well as the different harvesting periods and the various methods of vinification.
Hills, sweet hills. The colours, aromas and flavours of time. An open, bountiful natural setting. A landscape nestled between the sea and the mountains, where the distinguishing characteristic is wide-ranging variety. This is Marche region. A land whose traditions are constantly being renewed. Its wine reflect the dynamic personality and the genuine passion of its people. Out of this simplicity, comes a multifacetted love for all things authentic.
The hillside settings constitute an ideal environment for certain vines. Well exposed to the sun and meticulously cared for, the terroirs of our region produce wines whose intensity and bouquets are admired everywhere. With 5 DOCGs e 8 DOCs vintages, the Marche is a region rich in quality wines. Among the whites, Verdicchio dei castelli di Jesi Classico and Superiore stand out for their agreeable and pleasantly tart flavour.
The estate was established in 1995 and is owned by the Togni family. It is made up of three old country houses and a modern winery were the wine is produced and stored. The name Casalfarneto comes from the place name “Farneto”, which in turns takes its name from a variety of oak tree (Quercus Farnetto) that is very common in this area. For Casalfarneto, the link with the territory is crucial. The 60 hectares of land, 35 of which vineyards, are located on a typical Marche hillside, at 350 m a.s.l. and surrounded by an astonishing lush green landscape.
An area extraordinarily well suited to winemaking. Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico, grapes that stand out for their quality, dominate production while the Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Cabernet, Petit V. and Merlot varieties mount a challenge, demonstrating the value of the 7 hectares cultivated with red grapes.
